Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Training

Four of the required courses to gaining access to the TCP colony are related to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).


The Courses


Step 1: Read the Standard Operating Procedures

It's required reading. Log into LIMS to access the link.

IMS010 - Cage Card Creation and Termination

Step 2: Access the Course Material Using Articulate

Follow the course links to access the material.

  1. LIMS - Introduction - Required
  2. LIMS - Cage Cards I - Required
  3. LIMS - Cage Cards II - Required
  4. LIMS - Mouseline Passports - Required if creating or editing Mouseline Passports


Step 3: Log in to the LIMS Demo System

You MUST use Firefox when accessing LIMS. Other browsers will work 'most of the time' but they are not supported.

For General user training, go to http://LIMSDemo.phenogenomics.ca and use one of the following user / password combinations to log in

  • training1 / tcp123
  • training2 / tcp123
  • training3 / tcp123
  • training4 / tcp123


Step 4: Complete the Courses

    1. Re-read the instructions.
    2. Email the LIMS team.


Step 4: Submit the Completion Form and Quiz Answers

Send the cage card PDFs from the Cage Cards II course to LIMS team.
